Sept Winery

სეპტი

winemakerMaher Harb (guest — Lebanon)

Sept sits high on Mount Batroun in northern Lebanon, looking out over the Mediterranean. In 2010, Maher Harb walked away from a successful career in France to return to his family land in Nehla, and in January 2012 planted more than 5,000 vines. He vinified his first vintage in 2016, in his garage; he named the project Sept — French for seven — partly from numerology, partly in homage to his father. Biodynamic in the vineyard, native yeasts, no additives, minimal sulfur, stainless steel and skin contact in the cellar — and a quiet but determined revival of Lebanese heritage grapes like Obeideh and Merweh, which had nearly disappeared.
